Foundation Friday

Foundation Friday

YouTube brought me to knees and made me do it. After seeing countless videos claiming that Maybelline dropped the best drugstore foundation to date, I had to give it  whirl. Releasing over 16 shades, Maybelline's new SuperStay Foundation is doing numbers at the drugstore. Now, I'm no foundation expert. I tend to stick to the same types of foundation: pocket friendly and medium coverage. Last year, I gave Clinique Concealer Foundation a try. It's been my go to since then. Given that the shade I purchased is a little on the red side, I was already on the hunt for a new base when everyone was going crazy over the 24hr wear foundation. I told my pockets that it was perfect timing and to hush.

Happily, I found myself browsing the makeup aisle at my local WalMart. I was so excited and shocked to see how much Maybelline had expanded their collections. SO MANY OPTIONS. Reluctantly, I picked up the shade Warm Sun. It was a yellow undertone (score!) that was much lighter than some of my other foundations at home. When I back home, I thought "omg this is wayyyy too light" and was totally bummed because I was ready to get my face all the way together. However I decided to try it anyways and boy, was it lit. It went on like a dream, covering my hyperpigmentation and giving me a skin like finish. Maybelline had done it again. If you rummage through my makeup bags you will find that I always run to Maybelline to get my base just right. In my beginning stages with makeup, you could not pry their Dream BB Cream from my hands. Their FitMe: Poreless and Matte formula did a 3 year stint in my routine before I switched to Clinique. Now they are back, better than ever, giving me reason to believe I was born with it. Cop your shade and lemme know how you feel?

xoxo
